We love our dogs but at times they can be a pain. German Shorthair Pointers (GSP) are high energy and very intelligent. If they do not have a job to do they will figure out how to entertain themselves. In particular, our older dog has the reputation as our Little Bad Dog because she has the most creative ways of making a mess.
In reality, they are not really bad dogs. They are intelligent and very driven working dogs with a strong prey drive. When there is a mouse or mole in the yard that means it is their job to find and kill it. Even if that means digging through an ATV seat to get to a mouse nest or digging a 20 foot trench to find a mole. In a related post, I declared war on invading rodents.
