Mazey was my first German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) and she changed my life. She was with me through some challenging times and was always there for me.
In late 2006, my daughter bought a 6 month old German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) named Burke. They got him about two weeks before she and her husband moved into their new home. So, Burke came to stay with me for those two weeks. I enjoyed the experience so much that I decided I wanted a GSP.
I reached out to the breeder to buy Burke’s sister. However the breeder had decided to keep her. But, as luck would have it she had an older dog that she had been planning on keeping that she was now willing to sell. I arranged to meet the breeder at my then borther-in0law’s farm to see the dog.
When Mazey got out of her truck was a very surprised. I was expecting a smaller dog when out comes 55 pounds of solid muscle and speed. I bought her on the spot.
That was the start of a 12-1/2 year relationship. We went through my divorce and her cancer together. During that entire time she was always my steady companion.
