We had a great early summer day with mild temperatures and a slight breeze. Perfect for working on the roof.
I built some scaffolding so that we would have ready access to the roof. Considering the average age of the crew was 69 years old, we needed something solid. With the scaffolding in place we first finished up connecting the siding to the trusses. Next, we lifted and screwed into place the two almost full sheets of plywood. Two more narrower pieces completed the west side. While Cary fastened the plywood, Mike and I added boards under the eves plus a strip of trim. I then used a router to trim the roof panels to the eve trim before attaching metal drip edge.
We then moved the scaffolding to the east side and repeated the process. After 301/2 hours, we had the roof, eves and drip edges finished. Just in time to avoid the direct sun.
